The Senate begins an investigation of the Watergate scandal. They call White House Lawyer, who claims Nixon knew of cover-up, but not necessarily the break-in. The lawyer also tells Senate about Nixon’s tapes, which were recordings of every conversation held in the Oval Office. The Senate tells Nixon to hand over the tapes, but Nixon refuses, claiming the tapes are Executive Privilege. The Senate files charges against Nixon for obstruction of justice and asks the Supreme Court to decide on the issue.
