He also killed former Nazi associates who could pose a threat to him. Hitler's rise marked the beginning of a re-militarized Germany, and the beginning of territorial demands. Finally, Hitler began his long campaign against the Jews shortly after his appointment as Chancellor, leading to 6 million deaths.
