The Nazis won the majority in the Reichstag in 1933. They gained popular support through violence and radical ideas which involved extreme forms of nationalism. The Nazis promised to fix many of the problems plaguing Germany as a result of World War I, the Treaty of Versailles, and the Great Depression. They also turned the blame for the misfortune of Germany towards the Jews and outwards towards the allied powers.
