A referendum on withdrawing from the League of Nations was held in Germany on the 12th of November in 1933.At the same time there were Reichstag elections. The vote was approved by 95.1% of voters with a 96.3% turnout. To increase the nationalist sentiment in the lead up to the vote, the Nazis intentionally timed the referendum to take place as close as possible to the fifteenth anniversary of the Armistice of Compiègne, then a bitter memory in the minds of not only the Nazis but most ordinary Germans as well.
