The Indian National Congress (INC) was the first nationalist party to emerge in the British Empire of Asia and Africa at the time. Although somewhat of a slow start, it became a very important part of India acquiring their independence, since Gandhi would be hand in hand with the INC. It is a very active political party to this day.
