Williamson starts to distance himself from Thaniel because Thaniel is defending Mori and accusing Spindle of the crime, while Williamson is defending Spindle. Grace continues investigating how Mori can predict the future, and she finally figures it out. Mori can only predict things when he knows the outcome ( he noticed when there was an extra ace, added by Grace, in the deck of cards). However, he lost the game that involved a dice because every outcome is random. She notifies Thaniel that Mori is in fact telling the truth about his predictions.
