This invasion was led by Hitler using the German Army on September 1st, 1939. Hitler attacked Poland fast because he knew that they would ask for help, and Germany (at this time) couldn't take on all of Europe. This event was significant because it marked the beginning of World War 2 and the beginning of Hitler's own "reign of terror".
