30 Jan 1933 Jahr - Hitler appointed chancellor
Beschreibung:
Hitler’s dream of Nazi control was finally realized as President Paul von Hindenburg appointed him chancellor. Due to political gridlock during the economic crisis of 1929, the chancellor position was able to bypass the Reichstag, allowing Hitler to waste no time in bringing Germany toward his vision of a one-party state. He ordered an expansion of state police, the Gestapo, with Goering at the head, essentially empowering his own state-funded militia to stamp out opposition. By July 14, the Nazis had become the only legal party.
