Change: For the first time, Catholicism splinters and people start to follow Protestantism, though opposed heavily. Holy Roman Empire switches its main focus on destroying the small new group while Luther begins to gain a following.

Continuity: Spain remains unaffected by Luther, out of reach of Protestantism, Italy is still rich for a few more years. Poland and Eastern Europe are still irrelevant and unaffected
