While the Lamanites had been busy eradicating the Gadianton Robbers, the Nephites had joined with these evil men. The result was that in the same year that the robbers were destroyed from among the Lamanites, they gained full control over the Nephite Government. A member of the band was made Chief Judge, as well as most of the lesser judges, and likely military leaders.
