Galileo Galilei was an Italian scientist, who after turning a telescope to the sky began studying astronomy. He pioneered the Ptomelic universe, which is basically that everything revolves around the sun. He is most known for his discovery of Jupiter's moons. He also anticipated inertia, which is the scientific law that basically means that matter will move in a straight line until acted upon by another force. (4.2)
