(On this day, Argentina declared independence from Spain. Argentina has had a fairly unique history in South America, as it's become home to many groups not found elsewhere on the continent. Large numbers of people here are Italian, German, Arab, or Welsh, among many others. This is due to the fact that Argentina was home to the 2nd largest immigration boom in the Americas.)
