Gay Marriage becomes legal in all states under the Constitution. For the longest time, homosexuality has been something that is not discussed and it brought shame. Many in the LGBTQ community felt that they were not getting the same rights as other Americans and that to say that gay marriage was illegal was in conflict with the Constitution. In the past, if someone identified as a homosexual, they were subjected to harassment and abuse from others and nothing was done about it. In some cases, business refused to serve gays and even went as far as to publicly humiliate them. The legalization of gay marriage was a huge step forward for this country in the pursuit of equality for all.
