14 Jun 1258 Jahr - Fall of Baghdad to Mongols
1258 CE
Beschreibung:
The city of Baghdad was at the time the biggest and richest city in the world. The city was where the Caliph lived. The arrival of the Mongols into the heart of the muslim faith/religon and empire is the worst moment in history for the middle eastern muslims. This is because the Fall of Baghdad to the mongols would mark the end of the Islamic Golden Age. The Mongols ripped the city apart and took the city in 10 days.
