Case having to do with the first amendment, freedom of speech. Benjamin Gitlow was a Communist Party member and publisher of The Revolutionary Age advocating for the violent overthrow of the government and a group of New York police officers arrested him. The court convicted Gitlow and extending the 1st amendment with the 14th.
