11 Nov 1620 Jahr - Pilgrims Land
Beschreibung:
About 400 years ago, 13 years after the first English settlement in America called Jamestown, there was another group of travelers who came to America in search of religious freedom. They wanted to worship God in their own way and seperate from the Church of England; they were persecuted and sent to prison for their personal beliefs in England. They formed their own congregation and called themselves the Saints. The Saints (along with strangers and crew) finally set sail on the Mayflower on September 6th, 1620. The voyage was extremely difficult, but after 66 days at sea, they landed on Plymouth Rock. When they arrived in America, they made the Mayflower Compact, which was an agreement one must sign about how their colony would run. They established Plymouth Colony, which is now Massachusetts inside Cape Cod.
