President Barack Obama was a Democratic Senator from Chicago who had a meteoric rise to the presidency. He was the first African American elected to the presidency and defeated Senator John McCain in 2008. He saw the country through the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and broke barriers as the first black President. His major brain child was the Affordable Car Act nicknamed Obamacare. His presidency was ground breaking and he still has an active role in American politics.
