Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus was written by Mary Shelley, when she was 20 years old. She created the horror novel because of a ghost story competition. The idea about Frankenstein came from one of her dreams. Many people thought that her husband, Percy Shelley, had wrote the novel, because it was published anonymously in the beginning. Mary Shelley obviously won the competition and had created the first science fiction novel.

The novel is about a mad scientist that brought life to a dead man, by the lightning. When the man resurrected the mad scientist had created a monster instead of a man.
