The ratification of the Constitution marks the ratification of the document that has outlined how the government of the United States operates. It outlines the separation of powers between three equal branches of government, and how states have autonomy while also being under a federal authority. The constitution would not have been possible unless the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence that proceeded it.
