Aftert his followers made him king Amlici organized them into an army to conquer the Nephites.
The Nephites, being apprised of their intention, also gathered together into armies. While captains and chief captains were appointed, Alma went at the head of the army to meet the Amlicites when they attacked.
The Amlicites were met in battle near the Land of Zarahemla, on the shores of the river Sidon. The Nephites defeated the Amlicites and drove them from the land.
Amlici and the survivors of his army fled and joined the Lamanites.
