13 Sept 1896 Jahr - Jim Crow Laws
Beschreibung:
Jim Crow laws were laws that were set up after the abolishment of slavery. The laws were designed to separate and oppress people of color all throughout the Southern states, where the laws were most prevalent and harsh. The laws included separate bathrooms, water fountains, white only restaurants, white only school systems and many more white only establishments. The white only schools and bathrooms were almost always better and the black only establishments were often of deplorable conditions. These laws essentially created a caste system in the South that lasted for generations.
