1 Jun 1812 Jahr - Napoleon invades Russia
Beschreibung:
With a force of 600,000 from various countries under the umbrella of the Grand Empire, Napoleon began his invasion of Russia. Though the winter was to be spent in the conquered Russian city of Smolensk, Napoleon chose to press on through the cold, unforgiving Russian winter. Tsar Alexander I evacuated and burnt Moscow, leaving Napoleon's forces to spend 5 weeks in the ruined city until they were finally told to retreat. At this point, however, it was too late. Napoleon abandoned his troops to die by starvation or the Russian army, marking the beginning of the end of Napoleon's reign.
