In class, Melba is passed a sign up sheet to attend Little Rock Central High School. The reason being is to see what it is like inside the fancy school which was for whites only. The further mention of her volunteerment wasn't revealed until nearly after a trip at Cinncinati, Ohio months later during the summer of 1957.
