Texas was Annexed on a Joint-chamber agreement that allowed Iowa to enter the Union as a free state and Texas as a slave state. Shortly before James Polk's Inauguration. Also Oregon was split up between the U.S and British Canada with the U.S getting 60% of the Territory.
