• MDU (Malayan Democratic Union)

Joined by Tan Cheng Lock and Ishak Haji Muhammad. This coalition opposed the Federation Proposals and composed the People’s Constitutional Proposal which proposed the inclusion of Singapore within the Federation, equal opportunity for and rights of citizenship, democratic election, and independence of Malaya.
