13 Jan 1912 Jahr - Classes for "Backward" Children
Beschreibung:
The next special education course to be developed were separate remedial classes for "backward" children. These children are the ones who could not keep up with other children their age when it came to learning. They were also referred to as "slow learners". These were also auxiliary classes however they were later named "opportunity classes" in 1937. This means that these children were kept away from other "normal" children and were taught with children who were "like them". (Ellis & Axelrod, 2016, p.6).
