New killing machines changed the war overnight. The British Mark I Tank was great for breaking barbed wires and clearing paths for friendly infantry. However, the concept of such a new invention was still not fully developed. The Mark I Tank had only one major problem: It was not always reliable. Its first appearance occurred during the Battle Of Somme. (1916)
