The practice of Confucianism was highly encouraged during the Han Dynasty, so once Emperor Wendi reunited China, he revived it's philosophies as well. When the restoration of Confucius rituals began, the promotion of Buddhism began with it, which lead to the people of the Sui Dynasty having a religion to believe in.
