Beschreibung:

Typhoid is transmitted by anal/fecal route. It's associated with filth, poverty, and poor sanitation.

Typhoid is caused by Salamonella Typhi which causes typhoid fever, can only infect humans, it replicates and divides in intestinal tracts, and can also be through urine.

Symptoms:
Week One: Diarrhea, constipation, high fever, headache, weakness, sore throat, abdominal pain
Week Two: Rose colored rash, weight loss, distended abdomen
Week Three: Typhoid state - delirious, laying very still. Potential for life threatening complications 10-20% fatality rate

Typhoid Mary: 1906 - a personal chef that was infected with typhoid but never became sick. She infected a lot of people - some which ended up dying - but despite efforts to detain her she was eventually released and continued to infect others.

5% of all people that recover from typhoid fever will become carriers of the disease

Two Vaccines are available
Antibiotics: Ampicillia, Chloramphenical, Cipnofidoxacin (Symptoms would go away in 2 days)

XDR Typhoid: 2016 300 cases of this extremely resistant typhoid strain were isolated in the UK. It's resistant to five different antibiotics such as Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole and Fluoroquinolones.

Events:

The Great Stink in London of 1858, the contribution to such a smell was due to the summer heat shining down on the already unsanitary conditions. The smell was so putrid the Government of London had to shut down. Not to mention there were about 53 overflowing cesspools adding to it.
People attempted to hang curtains with nice smells however it didn't work.
