In 1774, The Intolerable Acts were created when the British prime minister heard about the Boston Tea Party. These laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their disobedience in the Tea Party protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British to the damage of colonial items. Originally, these laws were created to bring back order in the colonies, but instead “the acts simply made more people angry.”
