He was well known by being the developer of Lemaitre's Big Bang Theory, also discovered a theoretical explanation of alpha decay via quantum tunneling. He also worked on radioactive decay of the atomic nucleus, star formation, stellar nucleosynthesis and Big Bang nucleosynthesis. His attribute to the periodic table was in 1925 when he does a model of the periodic table.
