This was the bloodless exchange of the English throne from James II to Mary and William of the Netherlands. Parliament wanted to rid James of the throne because he was Catholic, and Mary and William were Calvinist. Almost all of England was in agreement with this, and so James did not fight. It is known as "glorious" because it was bloodless.
