The Articles of Confederation, where were drafted by the Continental Congress in 1776 and 1777, are officially ratified. This is the first laws of the land of the United States, but there are many many flaws, such as the inability to make funds, even after a war had launched them into major debt. The lands that had once been under Quebec rule were unable to be claimed because of the rules the Articles made.
