15 Dez 1791 Jahr - Addition of the Bill of Rights to US Constitution
Beschreibung:
The Bill of Rights were 10 amendments guaranteeing basic individual protections, such as freedom of speech and religion, that became part of the Constitution. To date, there are 27 constitutional amendments. Although a Bill of Rights to protect the citizens was not initially deemed important, the Constitution’s supporters realized it was crucial to achieving ratification. Thanks largely to the efforts of James Madison, the Bill of Rights officially became part of the Constitution.
Allowed the future addition of amendments, ultimately leading to the monumental 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments during the Reconstruction Era.
