1 Aug 1848 Jahr - Birth of Organised Feminism
Beschreibung:
Organised feminism did not really kick off until the first Women's Conference held in Seneca Falls, America, in 1848. This was a gathering devoted to women's rights that evolved out of social reform groups such as the Abolition of Slavery, the Social Purity and Temperance movements. Women began to realize that in order to transform society they would need their own organisation to do so. This event laid the foundation for multiple feminist movements and campaign's dedicated to universal suffrage, property rights, divorce, access to higher education, equal pay, and protective legislation for women workers.
