The Battle of Normandy is the largest amphibious invasion in history. The battle was a pivotal point in the war for the Allies, as capturing this area provided a beach for troops to land on and many other small factors made Normandy a critical point to capture. On D-Day, a little over 300 Canadians were killed, but by the end of the fighting in Normandy over 5000 Canadians were killed. 6. Video source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV7mK0iT3P8
