19 März 1836 Jahr - Battle at Coleto Creek When James Fannin heard that Sam Houston wanted everyone to meet at Victoria, he left and met up with 2 other generals. While stopping to let their oxen rest, they were ambushed by the Mexican Army. They were able to defend the first several waves, but when they got more reinforcements, they had to surrender, and the Mexicans killed all of them off.
