Alan Waldeck remotely retrieves the Climber, expecting it to contain the ARK team. (Dates are inconsistent between title and text of ACR log; could be 12/28.) But according to the Climber computer, it came up empty. It’s unclear whether the Climber was truly empty, or whether Ross was on it. Alan’s ultimate fate is unknown. However, the scan Catherine made of him at Tau will respond when Simon calls Zeppelin 216: “All that water. Everywhere. We’re drowning. This is Alan.”
