This strike was a 400,000 person strike, one of history's largest which lasted from July to October in 1922. This strike was triggered when the railroad businesses announced the workers wages would be cut by seven cents. The strike caused almost every railroad worker to join a union to fight back. The railroads immediately began hiring workers that didn't belong to unions to replace the missing workers. In the end the strike was finished by a court order banning all strike related activities.
