Suzanne Cory, Australia’s most distinguished molecular biologist is famous for her discovery in 1971 which involves the study the genetic component of immunity, discovering that antibody genes are a combination of pieces and can be arranged in a variety of ways. Cory is the immediate past President of the Australian Academy of Science. She was the first-elected female President of the Academy and took office on 7 May 2010 for a four-year term.
