Beschreibung:

Boyer and Cohen engineered the first successful genetically modified organism. They developed a way to cut out a gene from one organism and paste it into another. In their experiment, they used a gene that codes for antibiotic resistance from one bacteria and pasted it into another. There is currently a problem with genetically modified food sources. This has caused a problem because now people don’t know what’s going into their food in order to “enhance” it. I feel like this is both good and bad because there are now genetically modified organisms that are either bigger or produce more fruits and vegetables in order to sustain our growing population. However, I feel like we are missing out on the real deal of what the food we eat is suppose to look like, feel like, and, possibly, taste like.
