1 Jan 1982 Jahr - Second Huge Fire Breaks out in Old Jeddah

In 1982, a serious fire in the heart of old Jeddah
destroyed more than a dozen traditional buildings. Since, more losses have been suffered by structural collapses, accidental fire and arsons. Thirty years later, the number of surviving traditional houses in the old city has decreased from about 1,000 to some 300.
