On October 24, 1929, due to a lack of faith in the economy, a large amount of shares were sold and the major economy collapsed in Canada. In Toronto, 330,000 shares were sold, in Montreal 550,000 were sold at once. This collapsed the economy in Canada and the rest of the world, leading into the Great Depression.
