Jean-François Champollion is credited with deciphering Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. By using the Rosetta Stone and first identifying the names “Ptolemy” and “Cleopatra”, he was soon able to crack the code. The impact of this was that now people were able to actually translate important texts and images from ancient Egypt, allowing for previously unknown parts of history to be taught to the World.
