The Tea Act was a tax on tea passed by Parliament on May 10,1773. This tax required the British East India Company to pay a tax per pound of tea sold. Which later caused for the company's financial burdens to increase. Another result for having the Tea Act can be that it caused for the Boston Tea Party to happen.
