15 Jun 1767 Jahr - The Townshend Acts
Beschreibung:
Feeling like they had the right to tax the colonists. Parliament issued a series of taxes know as the townshend act. Money was helped to pay for the British troops in the colonies. Imported goods were taxed like paint, glass, lead, and tea. None of these items were made within the colonists. Colonists reacted by boycotting the items that were being taxed. This hurt the businesses who were trying to sell these items. Eventually the taxes on goods were repealed on items except for the tea.
