This is a document from the colonist to the King of Britain cutting ties. Thomas Jefferson is the main author of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson also believed that everyone should have the right to life and liberty. He did not believe that everyone ha d a natural right to property but he believe d that every had the pursuit to happiness. This document gave independence for Americans.
