23 Dez 1776 Jahr - The Battle of Trenton
Beschreibung:
December 23rd, 1776 marked one of George Washington's most famous victories as general of the Continental Army, the Battle of Trenton. The harsh winter was having a large impact on Washington's troops. Some of them had even abandoned the Continental Army. So, Washington devised a cunning plan to launch a sneak attack on Hessian soldiers (mercenaries hired by the British) and raise morale. Washington and his soldiers bravely crossed the frigid Delaware River on a freezing December day, and swiftly defeated the Hessian forces. This victory not only improved morale within Washinton's army, but shocked the British.
