Beschreibung:

The famous victory of the Boers against the Zulu at the Battle of Blood River in 1838 affirmed that the Boers were indeed "God's chosen people".

Following this battle, they made a solemn covenant with God which, if honoured, would allow them to triumph over their enemies.

The Blood River victors vowed to bring civilization to Africa in return for God's favour and protection.
