The Know-Nothing Party was a political party made mostly of Native Americans that were against prejudice, immigration, and the religion of Catholic. This group started as a secret society and then was later renamed American Party. It was started because the natives believed that the new immigrants of Germany and Ireland were causing problems in the economy.
